rainsong – A Cross-Country Music Video
Like many things these days, it all started with an innocent little tweet from Rob Michael (@atmostrio on Twitter):
I’ve always loved Led Zeppelin & here’s my slightly jazzy take on 1 of my favorites. http://bit.ly/9Z2VsG #jazz
Being a bit of a fan of Rob and the Atmos Trio, I downloaded the MP3 for the price of a Tweet (Another cool facet of this story, but I digress). Rob had been recording some new music with, as he called them “new toys” and created a beautiful version of Led Zeppelin’s “The Rain Song”. As it happens, it was one of those gray, rainy, cold Northeast days here in Middlesex, NJ… and not only was the music amazing, it was the perfect song for the day.
I grabbed the camera, and decided to experiment a little (Camera & shoot specs below). Since Rob recorded the music from his home studio in California, I wanted to keep the same kind of feel on the project, so rather than head out to shoot in a couple of locations, I decided to shoot everything from the front door of my studio here in New Jersey. (That’s a quick photo of the “location” over there). I also stayed under the overhang, and kept the camera out of the rain that way.
So here’s the result:

Hope you enjoy it, and while you’re at it, visit the Atmos Trio’s website for more amazing music, and check out some of the innovative things Rob is doing to promote his music. (And don’t forget to buy their albums too!)
Thanks for the inspiration Rob!
