Launched in 2009, njaie.org is the online version of the Artists-In-Education Residency Handbook published by the New Jersey Artists-In-Education Consortium. NJAIE, a public/private partnership that administers residency programs for artists in schools in the State; approached us to "translate" an already-designed print version of the Handbook into an online version.
The main challenge was in building a modern site that was compatable with older browsers found in some schools in the State. The result was a cross-browser compliant site that made use of third-party applications, such as document embedding via scribd.com. While not on the cutting edge of web development, the site was designed with both yesterday's technology and tomorrow's growth in mind.
